On April 5th, De Oosterpoort bursts with music during Kindermuziekweek, a free afternoon full of music!

Kindermuziekweek
De Oosterpoort will be full of music for kids because it's the Kindermuziekweek on April 5th. VRIJDAG, SPOT Groningen, and the Noord Nederlands Orkest are organizing a fun-filled afternoon with lots of music.
Workshops (ages 6 - 12)
Pick your workshop you always wanted to do such as making beats, trying out instruments, or play the Pbone? It’s all possible!
Family Concert: Cinderella (6+)
After the workshops, the Noord Nederlands Orkest will perform a beautiful concert in the Great Hall of De Oosterpoort: Cinderella! A musical fairy tale for young and old.
There is room for 80 children, so reserve your spot now! Grab your free ticket for both child and parent/guardian. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the café while your child enjoys the workshop. During the concert, you may join your child. A maximum of 1 parent/guardian per child is allowed.
Workshop: Build Your Own Dream Track
VRIJDAG instructor: Rudy
Have you always dreamt of making your own music? In this workshop, you'll create music on a computer or tablet. You'll learn all about BPMs and how to build awesome beats! Want to rap along? We’ll create lyrics together. Build your dream track in your own style!
Workshop: Music Expedition
VRIJDAG instructors: Saskia & Edwin
Discover different instruments and the amazing sounds they can make. We’ll make music together like a real band, using signs that everyone understands. What will it sound like...? That’s a surprise!
Workshop: Musical Poetry with a Loop Station
VRIJDAG instructor: Loulou
Want to rap, beatbox, and write a musical poem? Create a spoken-word piece with music and a cool beat! Spoken-word is a rhythmic way of telling a story—it can be a rap, a song, a poem, or story. We’ll play with words, rhythm, and rhyme. Using our voices and objects around us, we’ll make music with a loop station (a device that repeats recorded sounds).
Workshop: Percussion
NNO instructor: Stefan
Blowing, bowing, conducting, drumming—it all happens in the Noord Nederlands Orkest. And now, with NNO percussionist Stefan, you get to try out percussion yourself!
Workshop: Pbones
NNO instructor: Mark
Maybe you’ve seen them before—those brightly colored trombones. Those are Pbones! Join NNO trombonist Mark and learn to play the trombone.
