VRIJDAG is the home of amateur arts. We are proud to open our doors wide for amateur theater groups, dance ensembles, bands, orchestras, choirs, and musicians! Whether you're looking to perform or rehearse, we offer a professional venue for your needs. We welcome you at our locations on Walstraat, Noorderbuitensingel, and Akkerstraat in Groningen. All our venues are easily accessible for the public and equipped with facilities such as restrooms and a bar. Please note, venue rental at Sint Jansstraat is currently unavailable due to renovations.

Across our locations, you can rent different stages. You can perform in either our large theater hall or our large concert hall. Each stage is equipped with professional lighting and sound systems, with an experienced technician on-site to assist with the setup. Our venues also feature dressing rooms, a bar with staff, and the option for us to manage ticket sales and promote your event. Looking to rehearse with your band or instrument? Commercial, cultural, or rehearsal rate?

Groningen is the City of Talent, and VRIJDAG is proud to support talent by providing a stage. Thanks to funding from the municipality of Groningen, we offer a cultural rate starting at €180 excl. VAT per half-day for amateur groups from the city and province of Groningen. For amateur groups from outside the province and/or commercial organizations, a commercial rate applies, starting at €360 excl. VAT per half-day. Not planning to perform but just want to rehearse? On weekdays when management is present, you can rent a space at our rehearsal rate of €20 per hour.
