VRIJDAG is looking for a new Sculpting instructor for our course on Wednesday afternoons.
Sculpting instructor
Everyone can participate in art and culture. That is the mission of VRIJDAG, the leading provider of courses and workshops in music, theatre, and visual arts in Groningen. We also offer programmes for schools, support amateur art in the city and province, and we are active in several quarters and villages with cultural coaches and Open Studios.
As of January 21, 2026, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring freelance:
Sculpting instructor
1 course (2.5 hours) per week.
We are looking for a new instructor for the Sculpting from life course on Wednesday afternoons. We’d love to welcome someone who can enrich our course programme with their own active artistic practice. We’re very curious about your ideas and wishes!
What will you do?
- You will be both a subject matter expert and a coach for the participants
- You will develop the course content in consultation with the Visual Arts Programmer
- You will take craftsmanship and technique into account, combined with innovation and room for experimentation
- You will participate in meetings with fellow instructors and make arrangements regarding classroom use, materials, etc.
What you bring to the table
- You have current expertise in the subject, preferably with your own specialisation
- You have a degree from a higher education art program, or are close to graduation
- You have experience in independently teaching adults
- You are interested in and/or have experience in working with live models
- You are active in your own professional artistic practice
- You have strong social and didactic skills (or are currently in didactic training)
- You can inspire, challenge, and engage course participants
- You possess a recent, valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for working in (cultural) education, or are willing to apply for one
