In this course, you’ll explore simple photographic and intaglio techniques, which you can experiment with to create your own unique works. When should you use which technique? How can you best bring the ideas in your head to life on paper? You’ll learn by doing!

Blueprinting, also known as cyanotype, is an old photographic technique that allows you to quickly and easily create photographic prints, always in blue, on paper. We’ll start with making contact prints, where you place thin materials directly on the paper and expose it to light. Later, we’ll work with photographic negatives.

In the final lessons, we’ll combine everything with intaglio printing and material printing. By simply cutting something out of paper and placing it over or under your blueprint, you can use a press to create a two-color print.

You don’t need to be skilled at drawing; both techniques are also excellent for creating abstract works.

This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.
