Playing bassoon in Groningen
For all ages and levels
The bassoon is the bass of the woodwinds. The instrument is versatile when it comes to sounds: in the low tones, the bassoon is somewhat coarse and grainy, in the middle register the sound resembles that of the horn and in the treble it comes close to the tone of the cello, viola or human tenor voice. That makes the bassoon an interesting instrument to play. The bassoon is a common appearance in the concert band, wind band and the classical orchestra, but in fact the instrument is needed everywhere. You can play very old to very new pieces of music and even jazz with it.
