The flute is one of the oldest instruments in existence. A flute is played transversely to the lips. The sounds are warm and clear, which is why this instrument often plays the melody. Compared to other woodwind instruments, a lot of music has been written for the flute. The instrument can be found in classical music, but also in pop music and Latin, for example. The flute fits well in an ensemble, musical or big band and is often used as a solo instrument in symphony orchestras.
At VRIJDAG you can take flute lessons on your own or in groups. You will be taught by an experienced teacher who regularly plays the flute in performances and concerts. So you learn the intricacies of flute playing from real performing musicians! There are flute lessons for all ages and levels. And whether you opt for individual flute lessons or want to play in a flute ensemble; there is always a course for you.
VRIJDAG has many bands, ensembles, choirs and orchestras you can join with your flute. Making music together with others is not only very sociable, but also educational. You are challenged to listen carefully to each other and to dare to play solo. Don't have a flute? Then you can hire one from us. Wondering if it is something for you? The first lesson is without obligation. You can cancel free of charge within three days of your first lesson. This does not apply to short courses (≤8 lessons).
