Recorder lessons are ideal for getting acquainted with playing an instrument, but at the same time the recorder is a fully-fledged instrument. Although it is often used solo (or with piano accompaniment, for example), it is an instrument par excellence for ensemble playing. In fact, the recorder is often found in orchestras and ensembles. Especially in Baroque music, it is a common instrument. But because the recorder has been around for centuries, much older and modern music has also been written for this instrument. So you can choose from a huge repertoire in all kinds of styles

At VRIJDAG you can take recorder lessons on your own or in a group. You will be taught by an experienced teacher who regularly plays the recorder in performances and concerts. You will therefore learn the intricacies of recorder playing from real performing musicians! There are recorder lessons for all ages and levels. And whether you choose individual recorder lessons or want to play in a recorder ensemble, there is always a course for you.

VRIJDAG also has many bands, ensembles, choirs and orchestras that you can join with your recorder. Making music together with others is not only very sociable, but also educational. You will be challenged to listen carefully to each other and to dare to play solo. Don't have a recorder? Then you can hire one from us. Wondering if it is something for you? The first lesson is without obligation. You can cancel free of charge within three days of your first lesson. This does not apply to short courses (≤8 lessons).
