About Pavlo
Pavlo teaches contemporary physical theatre at VRIJDAG. For him, this art form is the most suitable way to express his feelings and worldview: a discipline that combines movement, philosophy, acting and classical pantomime.
Teaching at VRIJDAG
Pavlo describes himself as mostly understanding, but also a little strict. He believes that discipline is a crucial part of artistic development. He finds joy in seeing people experience something new and magical, something they haven’t felt or seen before. Most importantly, he wants to help them reconnect with their inner child, the one who sees the world in brighter colors.
Proud moments
As an actor and director of the 044 Mime Company, he believes in the power of art as medicine, for both body and soul. He feels fulfilled when a performance touches the audience deeply, when people leave the theatre transformed, in reflection, and emotionally moved. That, to him, is a sign that the work has truly reached its goal.
Favorites/Inspirations
His artistic inspirations include James Thiérrée, Michel Courtemanche, Jakop Ahlbom, Nils Frahm and Frédéric Chopin.
I am glad when people get something new, something magical, such that they have not felt or seen before.
